5 March 2009
Our term 1 value is:
Thank you for coming to school last Wednesday evening to meet with
class teachers. They thoroughly enjoyed talking to you.
Thank you for completing the form which is providing valuable
information about how you would like to support the school and get
involved. We really appreciate your support. Please keep in
touch with teachers if you have any concerns at all. We all need
to work together to maximise learning for your children.
Swimming Zones: We are having a super week at school and we are
very proud of our swimmers who came second overall at the zone swimming
sports on Tuesday. Congratulations go to Puhinui School for
winning on the day. Each of the schools competing did very
well. It is great to see such talent coming through in our
area. Sincere thanks go to our coaches Linda Jefferies and Tanya
Ford. There were some outstanding performances from our
team. The relays are always a real thrill and our swimmers swam
their hearts out. Many thanks to the parents and caregivers who
came along to support our team (vociferously!)
Term One Community Meetings: You are all welcome to come along to
the following meetings where we will be talking with you about language
learning. Your views will be welcome and acknowledged.
• Maori Whanau Group: 8.15 - 9.00am, Friday 3
April in Pelu’s office
• School Community Group: 2.00-3.00pm, Wednesday 1
April in the Oval Room
PTA AGM: The PTA will be holding the AGM next Monday 9 March at
7.00pm in the oval room. You are all welcome to come along.
Last year the PTA raised about 50% of the funds required for a fitness
trail for the children. We are looking forward to raising the
remaining amount this year, with your support.
Best wishes for the weekend. We are enjoying the Indian cricket
team touring here at the moment. Such good contests and
magnificent players for us all to appreciate!
No doubt many of you are considering the planting of your autumn
gardens and you will be pleased that some warm rain has come
along! Enjoy the company of your lovely children. Perhaps
they could have a small garden of their own – even just a pot of
flowers, herbs or vegetables?
